NSW TrainLink introduced a winter timetable on 1 July that adds two extra morning services from Central. Petrol costs for a standard sedan via the M4 and Great Western Highway average $48 one way at current fuel prices.

Pack layers for temperatures that drop to single digits overnight and confirm accommodation availability at guesthouses along Katoomba Street, where weekend rates start at $180 a night. Trails remain open daily from 7am but close after heavy rain, so verify conditions at the visitor centre on arrival.
